Baptized

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. -Jeremiah 29:11,12

This is my prayer for my son. I pray he will always remember to call upon the Lord and pray. Because God is in all the details and plans for our lives. Even when we don’t see or understand.

My husband and I made the decision to dedicate our son to the Lord when he was just a baby. I think as parents it’s something we have to remember daily. God loves our children more than we ever could imagine. We must continually trust His plan for their lives.

Today my son made his own decision. He asked to be water baptized. It’s something he said, “came to him and wanted to do.” I know God is working in his young life. I don’t know the plans God has for my son, but I know He does. I am grateful and excited to be a part of it!

That’s what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. -Romans 6:3,4 (the Message)

Hello to all of you, Ethan, August, Mike and Laura. Ran through your baptism pictures, Ethan and I am thrilled about it. (Wish I could have been baptised in the ocean instead of a baptistry at church, although it doesn’t matter where. It only matters that it is in your heart).

A side note to you, Laura and Mikie. Jo Anne dedicated her kids, but especially with Sam at his birth and look what he is up to now. He is a pastor. God has only good things lined up for our children.

I scrolled down and down and down on your pictures and notes and finally stopped in March. Have other things to do, you know, but thoroughly loved all the gorgeous pictures.

Love you all. Great gran’ma Betty

Incredible pictures – incredible moment – incredible experience – incredible God! Celebrating with your family at the work God is doing in your son’s heart and so honored that Doug got to take part in it. (love that protective instinct in the men as they watched the waves as they were talking!!!!) (must have you there at any of my kids’ baptisms to catch some shots!!!)
    Blessings!!!
